APAC Regional industry still growing strong

The Asia Pacific contact centre market is tipped to have more than three million seats by 2014.

Frost & Sullivan say the region had a total of 1.7 million seats in 2008, and can expect an annual growth rate of 10.5% leading up to 2014. The growth in size is expected to drive continued investment in technology and solutions.

"The contact centre industry in Asia Pacific continued to invest in customer care and contact centre applications despite a slow economic environment in the second half of 2008," Frost & Sullivan's Shivanu  Shukla told a summit in Malaysia. "Fuelled by rising domestic demand as well as steady growth in outsourcing, the contact centre market in Malaysia is expected to see good growth over the next 3-5 years," he added.
